comic book quickies 26/4/12

THE FLASH #8

Written by Francis Manapul and Brian Buccellato art by Francis Manapul

The flash is trapped in the speed force and dose battle with a super powered WW2 fighter pilot. Now that's some damn awesome stuff happening right there. The explanation of the speed force is a wee bit clunky though yeah I guess it is being told by a mad man but the issue sort of went back and forth on what was causing the flash's current problems and what he is in relation to the speed force. Well it felt like it did at least to me anyway. The new kinda villain turbine was pretty cool. Just a guy trying to get home to his own time. In an oddly dick move from Barry he provokes turbine in to attacking him by telling him he cant go home to the 40s. Yeah Barry gives him a timey whimey reason but still man. Dick move Barry. Dick move. And as always the art is AMAZING and really gets a chance to shine with all the weird background swirly dimension thingys happening.

AQUAMAN #8

written by Geoff Johns art by Ivan Reis

How cool is it that aquaman has his own book again ? Pretty sweet likes. So six years ago aquaman was a 90s anti hero. Cool I can dig it. Now not only was he a 90s anti hero he had his own team of 90s anti heroes. Ok fair enough. Now not only was aquaman the red ranger of that team but as shown so far he was the biggest bastard on the team. Yeah sometimes you can go to far trying to make aquaman a bad ass. Amazingly team aquaman turn out to be pretty cool guys, choosing to save civilians over taken revenge on the villain there chasing. Well played goff man. The issue still has the same problem that the book has had from the start, that being issues fly by too fast. Though I guess that's a good thing always wanting more from the comic after putting it down. Well played indeed. The best thing about the book continues to be the art. Is just so god damn warm and summery.

GREEN LANTERN NEW GUARDIANS #8

written by Brain Tony Bedard art by Tyler Kirkham

Its pish. But I'm still reading it. I don't know why. Tradition I guess ? Nostalgia for when the world was young and news of a lantern ranger book was world rocking ? Yeah that sounds about right. I spose you could say this issue was better than the lasts few that came before it what with it being a sort of spotlight issue for yellow lantern what's his name. Its eight months in and I DONT KNOW HIS NAME. Well we get an issue of what's his name being buddy cops with the weaponer of qward. Yeah ok that was pretty fun. And oh yeah the sinestro corps don't exist any more. That happened and I totally forgot about it. In my head I still thought they were kicking about in space some ware. But oh wells I'm sure they will be back one day. The book is still even this far in wasting it potential as the lantern rangers book. They don't feel like a team in anyway with them always bickering amongst themselves. Yeah I get that's one of the things that happen with super teams but there's a difference between bickering and banter and the team has yet to reach the fun banter stage. The lantern rangers aren't even really a team any more by the end of the issue with each member splitting off to do there own thing. Yeah wasted potential.

TEEN TITANS #8

written by Scott Lobdell art by IG Guara

Things get mind screwy this issue when the titans bring the beat down to “omen” but sadly its the annoying kind of mind screw not the interesting thought provoking kind. Well this was a struggle to get through. Now it wasny baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad. Its just that the book is so mellow dramatic with everyone being so cheesy in they way they talk. Except when they don't. Which is even more annoying. Its still one of those meh middle of the road books that shows glimpse of potential that stop me from dropping it. Plus the titans new costumes all have tron lines awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww yeah.

FF #17

written by Jonathan Hickman art by Nick Dragotta

SPIDERMAN AND THE HUMAN TORCH ARE ROOMMATES. HILARITY ENSUES. !!!!!

AVENGERS VS X-MEN THE FIGHTS #1

iron man vs magneto written by Jason Aaron art by Adam Kubert
the thing vs namor written by Kathryn Immonen art by Stuart Immonen

Awww yessssssss. Finally ! A comic all about fighting. Hell the god damn yes !!! Now I know I said the fighting over in the main avengers vs x-men book were boring. Now that's because they were. Very boring even. Buts that's because they wernt really proper fights but the set up for fights. Now guess that's what the fights are like in most event comics and every event has a thousand god damn tie in comics to expand those fights but its nice to have a dedicated comic that is all just fights. The comic is split into two fights the first being iron man vs magneto. Now this went down exactly just like I thought it would what with iron man's non metallic armour though it dose get a fair bit crazier than I thought it would with mag's making his own suit of power armour out of satellite's and iron man using the magnetic POWAH of Jupiter. Yeah shit gets a little crazy all right. A damn gid fight if a little clunky in places. The second fight is the thing vs namor the submariner. Aye not the first guys that spring to mind when I think avengers or x-men but damn awesome none the less. This fight had a VERY old school feel with both combatants trading witty one liners with each other that got me genuinely laughing. Now maybe its just me but with this fight taking place in water it made it so much more summery and that's very important for an event comic at least in my opinion. So yeah the fights. SURPRISINGLY worth it.

Mass Effect: Boldly blowing up what no-one has blown up before!

To celebrate my induction into the ranks of the pirates I've dug up a classic from my personal blog. With the internet rage showing no subsiding over the Mass Effect 3 scandal, this piece seems more than suitable to cash in on peoples nostalgia and rage.

Mass Effect is the story of the Commander Shepard and their attempt to bring good old fashioned space justice to rouge Spectre Saren Arterius. The player does this by following leads on various planets, doing side missions, shooting bad men in the face and generally faffing about on uninhabited planets in a vehicle that out right refuses to follow the laws of physics.

Suck it Science!

Oooo shiney!
Mass Effects graphics are nothing worth phoning home about. Even at release it was nothing special with low res textures and a low variety of objects meaning you would storm the same bland identi-kit pirate base time and time again. It gets to the point after a few hours you begin avoiding missions just so you don't have to see the same crap over and over again.
Purple in a game? Oh my god its been so long!
The art style and design however is fantastic. Biowares artists have achieved a perfect blend of classic Space Operas, such as Star Wars and Star Trek, and modern styling's. It is also colourful which gets a massive "Thank fuck!" after the wave of grey-brown shooters that has attacked us in recent years like a swarm of shit covered locusts. That is until you land on an uncharted planet the majority of which are, you guessed it, grey-brown. Really Bioware? You couldn't do a few weird ass planets that looked like they were created during Gods acid years? The real universe has freaking diamond surfaced planets. Up your game Bioware.
Despite the lack of fancy pants graphics the art style and direction really makes up for it. Seeing Shepard's ship, the Normandy, flying towards the Citadel is a treat to the eyes and the final space battle really is a joy to watch.

A long long time ago....
The background to Mass Effect is told through small info snippets in the games codex and talking to various people. Investigating a computer/tech/ship or talking about a races culture unlock these snippets. These all meld together a large and well written history of the galaxy and its races which really helps capture the Space Opera vibe that Bioware was going for. In this universe most technology is based on that of the Mass Relays, ancient space stations that can fling spaceships across the galaxy in seconds, built by the long dead Protheans. There is also the Citadel. The Citadel is a massive space station that serves as the seat for the Council which is the governing body of several alien races, sort of like the UN (in space). The Council employ Spectres, agents selected from the various races, to enforce their will and maintain stability in Council space. Their top agent is our bad guy Saren Arterius, a Human hating Turian. He plans to use the synthetic Geth to find the beacon which will help him find the conduit which will allow him to bring back the Reapers, ancient machine gods that harvest the galaxy of advance life every ten thousand years.....yeah. He's also a bit of a dick. Here to put a stop to his dickishness is this guy (or gal)

I don't put out for less than a Big Mac! Good day to you sir!
Him and his team of hard ass girl, touchy feely man, angry dinosaur, blue alien awkward nerd girl, gypsy alien nerd girl, crippled Seth Green and space kitty/lizard/chicken (Who is also Judge Dredd) are given the mission of stopping Saren. After mucking about in the Mako and doing lots of morally dubious side missions that is. Seriously you have to wonder what's going on in an RPG hero's head sometimes. "Yeah, evil machines hell bent on murder, whatever. I need to use my years of experience as an elite soldier to deliver this package of illegal goods for that guy over there!"
This being a Bioware game the characters are well fleshed out, space kitty..sorry.. Turian, Garrus Vakerian being a personal favorite, his loose cannon to my by the book guy.

Best space buddy cops ever.
Voice acting is great and the story is engaging despite the plot being done to death many times before (Ancient unstoppable evil yadda yadda). You'll play to advance the story more than anything else. But what of the gameplay I hear you ask?

Fun times with weapons
Mass Effect's gameplay is split into three main sections. Talking, combat and exploring.
Talking is the meat of the game here. Shepard interacts with many people on his journey to capture Saren and sadly shooting them isn't an option. Conversations are conducted using the conversation wheel. Generally the top option is nice and diplomatic, middle is neutral and the bottom one is "Get to the point or I will shoot you in the quads!". Being nice earns Paragon points while being a selfish git earns you Renegade. You also have the chance to make important choices gaining Paragon and Renegade points: "Do I really want to release this alien queen of a race bent on genocide because she says she'll play nice?"
Paragon and Renegade isn't really Good and Evil, more by the book and loose cannon. Points are needed to unlock certain conversation options that allow non-violent ends to a stand off or more money as a reward for a quest and so on. It is best to stick to a certain play style to gain maximum points. Rather fantasticly, Bioware has said that choices made in this game will have effects on the subsequent games! So maybe Queen genocide will repay your kindness, or kill you who knows? Shepard can also engage in a relationship with a few of his crew. Just like Captain Kirk before him, not even the threat of extinction at the hands of a race of god like machines will stop Shepard boning his way around the galaxy.

"Soooooo....threesome?"
The gunplay is rather bland and unfair. Weapons have little impact, bullets are almost invisible and I've died more than a few times because I had no idea I was being shot! Biotic and Tech powers help mix it up but for me the combat was what I least looked forward too. The oeverheating system is a nice idea but easily exploited at high levels. Standard RPG kill and loot mechanics are in play here with a multitude of weapons and upgrades available for you stat whores. Sadly the guns only come in two different visual models. Leveling up is a standard affair with the majority of skills aimed at combat.
The exploration element of the game is at worst un-needed. It is either pop ups on the Galaxy map which basicly gives you free Xp or driving about on the bland uncharted worlds in the now infamous Mako. The Mako handles like a fridge floating on treacle...on fire...upside down...driven by a below average intelligence raccoon. That is the only way I can really describe it.

Review score at the end of the universe
Mass Effect is a fantastic story with an ok game attached to it. More than once I found my self wishing the combat would end just so I could get to the next plot point. I'm critical of the combat but that's only because it doesn't live up to the standard set in the non-combat parts and feels like a drag at times. This is classic series in the making and to miss out on the first instalment would be a shame. Its only about £5 on various sites and still stocked in some stores so if you have yet to experience the Star Wars of this generation then get out there and buy it for gods sake! Clocking in at around 30-40 hours you really can't ask for more in terms of value for money. If your still unconvinced...there is side boob. Alien side boob too. Its pretty awesome.

comic book quickies 22/4/12

AVENGERS #25

written by Brain Michael Bendis art by Walter Simonson

Apart from one page this comic had PISH all to do with avengers vs x-men. Oh marvel.

BLUE BEETLE #8

written by Tony Bedard art by Marcio Takara

The blue beetle fights a time travel based mad scientist with a tragic back story. So blue beetle kinda sucks. Yeah that's not cool. See I feel a lot of linkin park was listened to when writing this new beetle. You know because his life is full of pain. He's still running away from home and that's no fun. No fun at all. Also its not like the plots going any ware and I could deal with that if the things that were happening were fun. Even just a wee bit fun. I'm being too harsh but this book wasny all that interesting this month.

BATMAN #8

written by Scott Snyder art by Greg Capullo

Shit gets real as the court of owls invades the bat cave. Oh my. Just. OH MY. This book just gets better and better. BETTER AND BETTER. JUST YEAH. JUST YEEEEAAAAAAAHHH. This batman might not be the bat god yet but this Desperate Dan lookalike is really growing on me. As you can see from the cover he's fighting shoeless. SHOELESS. What a bad ass. GO READ IT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW.

SUPER GIRL #8

written by Michael Green art by Mike Johnson

So supergirl and her Irish gal pal hang about new York then get attacked by ghosts. I think. Its not very clear. Yeah it was probably just a super villain but I'm going to say it was a ghost because that's more fun. Totally digging it by the way. The book got a hell of a lot more casual really fast. Yeah. AWESOME. Basically I got what I asked for a few months back. YEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHH. So supergirl can still only speak kryptonian. Damn kryptonian's coming over here taking our jobs.

AVENGERS VS X-MEN #2

written by team marvel art by JR jr

The avengers fight the x-men ! So this was surprisingly and oddly pish. It was just all fighting. Now I know that's all I ask for from a comic and I know Iv said in the past more comics could have been made better if they were all just fighting but the thing about this issue was that the fighting was just boring. Its just all static one on one one fights with narration that sounds likes its straight out of a 90s comic. Now that sounds like it should be awesome but somehow it isn't and weirdly for an event comic there's not a single splash page in the issue. Freaky likes. I know that the phoenix force is pretty tough but you'd think the heroes would jut throw Dr Doom at it. You know because HE'S BEEN BURNED BEFORE !!!

JUSTICE LEAGUE #8

written by Goff Johns art by Carlos D Anda with Ivan Reis and Joe Prado

So green arrow attempts to join the league. Hilarity ensues. I'm loving this books decent into non- super star-ness. I really don't get why they'd put in the the effort of having the proper all star justice league and then as soon as issue seven hits just throw it all away and start messing around with the line up. What's worse is that when the JL arny out saving the world there standing about being bastards. I dunno man Its just these past two issues the leagues come off as terrible people. Ahh wells maybes that's what the big goff lads going for. Billy batson's still horrible though.

comic book quickies 15/4/12

A surprisingly hefty week.

GREEN LANTERN #8

written by Geoff Johns art by Doug Mahnke

Well this was a pretty crazy awesome little issue ware not all that much happened. Crazy awesome in that both Hal and sinestro do some insanely cool things. Well Hal dose. Sinestros still stuck in psychopath mode when he should have mellowed out by now. The big goff man's still writing space Hitler as space Hitler. Which I guess is the right way to write a villain who's now a good guy against his will. Well it would be the right way to write him if sinestro had joined the justice league or some team like that but the problem is sinestro and hal are buddy cops and it's no fun to read when your sitting around waiting for space Hitler to mellow out. Now I don't want him to be laid back, no he is the bad cop of the the two but is it too much to ask for sinestro to roll around in a Hawaiian shirt ? Yeah so not that much happened this issue. Well nothing big. Well maybe something huge did happen and I just don't consider it that huge an event. I guess I'm just waiting for the guardians to make there move. Its been like eight months now. Hopefully shit will get real pretty soon.

SUPERBOY #8

written by Scott Lobdell art R.B Silva

So uh. Yeah. What the. What the hell happened last issue in superboy ? I genuinely don't remember. I started reading this issue and was like did I miss an issue ? I know superboy and the teen titans have a thing going on with one issue of one running into the next but I was a bit fuzzy on what happened last issue over in titans as well. Then I was like oh wells and just read the issue. It was pretty gid. Superboy fights this dude called grunge who's basically Kevin E Levin from ben 10 if he were a 90s anti hero. Which is cools. There seems to be a plot line devolving which sound like a super hero version of the the hunger games. That could be all right. My first read through of this issue I wasny digging it but now that I look back on it I'm quite likening it. Its mainly the 90s-nes of grunge that's doing it for me though it is nice to see that the book is at least trying to go some ware with its plot.

FRANKENSTEIN AGENT OF S.H.A.D.E #8

written by Jeff Lemire art by Alberto Ponticelli

Hmmm. Well this issue wasn't the barnstormer that I thought it was going to be. Now it was still pretty gid. It just wasn't as gid as I had hoped. See Frankenstein and his wife had to track down there evil son. And they did. And to me the son of Frankenstein was a wee bit of a let down. I'm not even sure what I was expecting but his design was just so bland. And weak. Now I can understand they way the issue went. It was more of an emotional story for fanky and his wife and there son was just there to put them though some charter development. I get that. I just felt a wee bit let down is all.

AVENGERS ASSEMBLE #2

written by Brian Michael Bendis art by Mark Bagley

So yeah I'm reading another avengers book written by bendis. Yeah I'm mentally ill. Its really not that bad but why the actual fuck is is bendis still writing the other avengers book ? You would have thought he would have just moved over to this book. But nope. Now this book is just a cash grab for the upcoming avengers film. I'm fine with that. It's what marvel always dose when there next film rolls around. Its kind of there thing. On the bright side it is Bendis and Bagley together again. Buddy cops that they are. The book dose suffer quite heavily from not being ultimate spider-man though. By that I mean Bagley has a noticeably different art style when he's not drawing ultimate spidey. The issue itself wasny too bad with the fights being well done and the plot getting a bit silly in places. Hawkeye dose refer to using the ultimate nullifier as the ultimate terrorist attack. Americans like.

FANTASTIC FOUR #605

written by Jonathan Hickman art by Ron Garney

Oh man. This comic. Manly tears. Manly tears for Ben Grim garp.

AMERICA'S GOT POWERS #1

written by Jonathan Ross art by Bryan Hitch

Let me just say this at the start here. This was really gid. Like really gid. It was just so .... battle city. Well I guess it was so hunger games meets running man. But yeah. Its a damn hefty first issue that's hella bang for your buck what with it basically being two issues slammed together. Plot wise it is just American idol with super hero's. Interestingly the book is filled with bastards like most mark miller-ish books ( and its very mark miller-ish) but the main hero isn't a bastard. Yeah he's not superman or captain America but so far he's shown to be not a bastard. Which to me was HUGE surprise. Now I'm sure he'll be corrupted as the story progresses but for now its nice to see he's not a bastard. I'm interested to see ware this book go's as I get the feeling these type of story's don't end happily. Oh and David tennant puts in a appearance Which is nice.

comic book quickies 6/4/12

ACTION COMICS #8

written by Grant Morrison art Andy Kubert

And the day is saved thanks to superman ! Proper superman action ! With superman being very superman-ish ! Now it was an odd run to get to this point. Don't look at me like that, yeah its Morrison so it was all ways going to be odd. I get that but what I mean it was odd in tone even for him. I think its the visual aesthetic of brainiacs tech. I duuno maybe its just me but it all just looks so 90s. Now I like the 90s but its really weird to see that kind of stuff in the first arc of a new superman book. That said it was not what I expected the first arc to be. Like at all. Now I guess that's a good thing and the superman's origin has been done so many times that big grant Morrison just went a different direction with it.

DETECTIVE COMICS #8

written and art by Tony S. Daniel

detective comics is now $3.99. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

JUSTICE LEAGUE INTERNATIONAL #8

written by Dan Jurgens art Aaron Lopresti

Justice league international ? More like buddy cop batman and booster gold with tag along kid batwing. Am I right lads ? Yeah not so much time spent with actual JLI this issue and the time the book did spend with them was ever so slightly rage inducing. So batman's mind fuck of a line from JL#7 regarding the JLI as a joke isn't referenced at all. Which is good. Because batman has boosters back. Its his thing. So the surviving members of the team aren't allowed by the Chinese woman from the U.N to go looking for there attackers. Now august general in iron like a lad rightly says the U.N cant stop them from acting on there own as individuals to which what's her name from the U.N says she'll use the media to destroy them. Ok fine. But guy gardner is right there ! He should be like fair enough use the media and ill go get the green lantern corp and we'll peel china off the face of the god damn planet ! Not really digging the taking apart of such a young team. Yeah buddy cop batman and booster gold more than make up for it but still.

AVENGERS VS X-MEN #1

written by Jason Aaron, Brian Michael Bendis, Ed Brubaker, Jonathan Hickman, Matt fraction, art by John Romita jr.

Well here we are auld friends the yearly marvel event is finally upon us. Now I like marvel events, yeah they come too often and don't matter for shite but I like them. There fun. But dammmm how dumb dose avengers vs x-men sound ? It just sounds spectacularly lazy. But you know what ? This first issue was pretty gid. It played out exactly how I wanted it to play out. See Cyclops is insane. Like FUCKING INSANE. To the point that magneto is the one telling him to calm doon. MAGNETO. Just think about that for a moment. So the phoenix force is returning to earth and the general opinion is the the x-man (x-woman?) hope will be its host so captain America go's the x-men to take her into protective custody. Fair enough likes. Cyclops is INSANE though so he dosent want the avengers help and starts a fight with cap. That punk Cyclops is so out of his skull that not only dose he think he can take the avengers he thinks he can take CAPTAIN AMERICA as well. Naw pal. Just naw. So since I don't read x-men I quite liked this comic. Like I said it played out just like I thought it would, Cyclops being insane and captain America being a lad. Yeah it has those first issue problems of set up and not that much actually happening but despite that it was still damn gid.

GREEN LANTERN NEW GUARDIANS #7

written by Tony Bedard art by Tyler Kirkham

Right something went majorly wrong some ware down the line in the creative process for this book. Seven months in and we still don't have a juice bar. Unforgivable. How do you put a team of lantern rangers together and not write in a juice bar in ? At this point id accept a juice bar space station or even a space ship that had juice bar on it. The book itself is still so-so. Its trying to make larfleeze a credible villain. Yeah. Not buying that. I get that he may have killed more people over all than space Hitler but I just cant see him as a big bad. Its not a bad comic but it is wasting its potential as as power ranger themed lantern book.

MUDMAN #3

story and art by Paul Grist

It exists !!!

ULTIMATE COMICS SPIDER-MAN #9

written by Brian Michael Bendis art by David Marquez

Stealth deadpool combines with the vulture !!! well no. but sort of ! Not a lot to say about this one folks. It was gid. Plenty of action and plenty of bendis-ish-ness . Wooooo shortness !

The once again late comic book quickies 30/3/12

THE FLASH #7

Written by Francis Manapul and Brian Buccellato art by Francis Manapul

So there hasn't been a B artist yet. How balls to the wall awesome is that ? dosent that just rock your soul ? That manapul is one hell of a manly artist all right. Manly like that auld aquaman artist down there. Week four is a damn fine looking week all right. DAMN fine. Those other weeks look good but they can vary wildly in quality but week four has these two fine lads leading the way. As you can see I have very little to say about the flash this week. Mainly because its so good. I know that shouldn't be a problem but there's never anything insane that happens to talk about. Like so far nothing like super adaptoid Norman Osborn pink hulk has happened. So that's a plus. Or maybe that's a negative. I'm not sure.

AQUAMAN #7

written by Geoff Johns art by Ivan Reis

So aquaman puts a team together. Or did in the past at least. There called the other's. Or at least the arc is. The comics not very clear on that. I'm not a lost man but I feel there's something going on here. This out of nowhere team malarkey dosent matter at all. LIKE AT ALL. You know why ? BECAUSE AQUAMAN PULLS A BOAT TO SHORE. That's right, anchor wrapped around him like a pimp. That aquaman. What a nautical LAD. This art by the way. Its KILLER. I mean holy god damn hell is it KILLER. You'd think that after seven long issues they'd have to have a B artist at some point. But nope there just powering on and fighting through the pain. Maybe the did change up the artist at some point and I just didn't notice. Nah that would be madness. MADNESS. There just something so ... warm about the art. Its just so cosy. Warm and cosy. Yeah.

TEEN TITANS #7

written by Scott Lobdell art by Brett Booth

Teen titans is still one of those guhhhhh books. Its not bad but its not gid. I feel like I said this last month. Well that's kind of my point. Its still not gid. No that sounds too harsh. Or harsh. Too harsh sounds too much. Its clunky. I spose that's the right way to put it. That said what gets me is that there's points in each issue ware its not clunky and actually pretty grate, like whenever bunker is genre savvy and that combined with its general not badness stops me from dropping it. This issue the titians INFILTRATE n.o.w.h.e.r.e.s base. Thats pretty rocking likes. Heh. Clunky review.

FF #13

written by Jonathan Hickman art by Nick Dragotta and Steve Epting

DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

LIVES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THE AVENGERS #24.1.1

written by Brian Michael Bendis art by Brandon Peterson

Right bendis. I know your that guy. That's cool, its your thing. But bendis please. Stop being that guy. I think we're all happy to just pretend that a lot of stuff never happened. Stop reopening old wounds. Since the vision is back in the world of the living we have to be reminded of avengers disassembled. Which is such a downer. We also have to deal with the visions PAIN. Because is wife sorta killed him using she hulk. Yeah. Ill let him get away with that one. Well the vision in a pretty ballsy move calls out magneto for his shit. It go's pretty well until you know, that hole master of magnetism thing kicks in. you get that the visions a robot right ? A damn kick ass 70s robot. I'm not a xmen fan and don't think anyone in the world has enough money to keep up with all the x books but id like to know two things. Why is colossus bald ? And when did magneto become solidus snake? Captain America was a total punk this issue. I don't mean that in a good way. This visions having a ruff day and caps giving him the Osborne pointy finger. Un cool bendis. Again avengers was a pretty mixed bag. It had some nice moments like the vision hugging and making up with she hulk but that gets countered with stuff like pointy finger punk cap.

Persona 4

Persona 4 is fucking Gay.

So i’ve been playing this game on ps2 (bulshit xbox ftw!) and it’s tottalyy fuckin gay. Like, seriousl.
It’s called SHIT megami tensei persona 4. You play this gay ass emo Japanese teenager with a fucking stupid ass goflclub sword. NOTHING HAPPENS FOR TWO HOURS. There’s this one chick who kicks stuff, but you can’t get a look at anything cause they must’ve given her shorts for the dub. Then there’s this total fag who lives in a gay sauna, and you go there and beat him up, and then he joins you. Then this totally hot stirpper joins you, and she’s all like “oh sensei, tentacels”! but you also have this fuckin useless mascot characterwhose just there to sell toys, i don’t use him. Then you get a tranny and i stopped playing. I think they meant for you to get this cool guy whose liek all dark and stuff, and into games and shit, but they fucking screwed up and forgot to code it. And the villains is so obviously the guy in the limo. I bet he makes you suck his cock liek team America cos THIS GAMES FUCKIN GAY.
