comic book quickies 22/2/12

THE FLASH #6

Written by Francis Manapul and Brian Buccellato art by Francis Manapul

Captain colds got an upgrade and is out for flash's blood ! Who knew the lack of sleeves made you stronger ? They must have been weighted. Right so flash is gid. Now by that I mean that its well written and the art is always amazing. I think you get that by now its pretty much all I say about this book when it pops up here on quickies. But daaaaaaaaaam flash is gid. Its one of those comicy comics that I love so much. Like this issue the flash fights captain cold. AND ITS AWESOME. Its a welcome change as despite how fun the last five issues were I was getting a wee bit board with mob rule and there slight brown shooter-nes. But only a wee bit. The plot point of the speed force being too dangerous to use continues on from last issue and I sort of like the way its been done which is weird for me as I don't normally like these power limiting story lines but all that's happened is the flash has been given a speedometer. And that's kinda cool in my opinion and fits in well with the hole theme of you know speed. It wont last but its so far not been as fun draining as it could have been.

AQUAMAN #6

written by Geoff Johns art by Ivan Reis

Mera go's shopping. hilarity ensues. She brakes a dudes arm and almost kills another guy. Yeah they both deserved it but still. So yeah this was a spotlight issue focusing on Mera who's aquaman's wife. Actually I'm not sure about that is she his wife ? Like in the new 52 ? or was she even his wife back in the day during the last universe ? I could just check. I am on the internet just now. It would take like two seconds. It would preserve my reviewers integrity. Naahhhhh ill just keep writing and see ware that takes me. So Mera's kicking about town trying to buy dog food because aquaman has a dog now and I think we can all see just how awesome that is. The quest for dog food leads to her getting perved on by this pervy guy. Who's a pervert. The issues AMAZINGLY unsubtle about showing that. I mean that's the point but that dudes got baaaaalllls man. She then gets her self arrested for the arm breaking shenanigans so she can help out with a hostage situation. It dosent go that well. She takes most of the water out of the bad guys body with her water control powers showing that she's a better aquaman than aquaman is. The hostage was like the bad guys daughter and she dosent take too kindly to her fathers all most murder even though her father KILLED her mother. Yeah. Mera makes a friend by the end of the issue so alls well.

GREEN LANTERN NEW GUARDIANS #6

written by Brain Tony Bedard art by Tyler Kirkham

The lantern rangers fight a slightly Kirby space god of light. Ohhh new guardians why are you being that guy ? I don't want to drop you but your trying very hard to make me. Its not that your a bad comic. It's not like your like your emo brother the red lanterns book that did something that was both insanely dumb AND offensive to me that I had to drop it. No the problem is your just ever so slightly bland. Now I don't mind blandness that much its just your the wrong kind of bland for me. You also suffer quite heavily from the sickness of generic lantern art, so even your bland story's cant be saved by nice art. Your also not written by the big goff and sadly that means your filler. Now I don't want to be that guy that says just because a certain book isn't written by a certain big name writer that book is instantly filler but in the case of green lantern book its sadly true. The big goff man is there true daddy and if he's not writing them then there filler. This months issue was slightly more interesting than the rest as the teams fighting a villain who says he's actually the good guy. Aaaaaaaaaaannnnd he has a point most of the lantern rangers are bad guys its only really the blue and green lanterns that are true good guy's and even then kyles gone all renegade on the corps. Still I don't know what to feel about this book but maybe if it introduced a juice bar to the plot....

TEEN TITANS #6

written by Scott Lobdell art by Brett Booth

The titans after getting beat buy superboy sort of mooch around static shocks place while they try to cure kid flash of speed force instability. Firstly ill say this, static shock built a robot dinosaur. AWWW YEAH. As we all know there's not much that's more awesome than robot dinosaurs. Its literally only in the comic for one panel and it is slightly bayformers-ish but the comic is much better for its inclusion. Also it has tron lines. The comic itself was all right its like new guardians in that its not all that awesome or well written but unlike blandy Mc blandington up there teen titans dose have some gid banter here and there and most of the characters are entertainingly genre savvy. Mainly bunker. Who's gay by the way. Did the comic not mention that he was gay? Because he is indeed gay if you didn't know.

FANTASTIC FOUR# 603

written by Jonathan Hickman art by Barry Kitson

The fantastic four fight an epic battle against mad space gods in space and it is epic. I'm going to say this upfront, Dr Doom dose not appear in this issue yet again. I can only hope there building to something with him. If not shit will get real. However this comic was bloody amazing even without the god of awesome that is doom. The entire run of FF and the return of the main fantastic four book was completely worth it as build up for this issue. Firstly galactus is a proper pimp. He gets jumped by the four space gods and he's like ILL TAKE YOU ALL ON !!! which he dose killing one of them but then and I am going to put my reviewer cred on the line and say is most likely going to be one of the highlights of the entire year for me a least, THE FOUR GODS COMBINE. Omgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it was so amazingly awesome after all combining is the soul of man ! So galactus is like petty dead after getting hit was the combined gods energy and falling to earth so the fantastic four rig up a god killing gun back on earth that was nicely set up in previous issues. They mange to de combine the gods but its not enough to kill them out right and end the threat so all hope looks lost but future franklin and valeria show up for a nice cliffhanger. Now ill wait and see how that turns out but I feel they missed a trick there it should have been Doom that turned up and saved the say there. I can see it now he'd be all battle damaged and be all like “see you bastards ! Ahm no done with you yet !”

UTIMATE COMICS SPIDER-MAN #7

written by Brain Michael Bendis art by Chris Samnee

Miles learns how to be spider-man in a nice training arc issue. Well here we are seven issues in and miles realises he cant shoot webs. Um why ? I kinda get that he dosent know that peter built his own web shooters and he might have thought they were an organic deal that came with the other spider powers but shield gave him his new suit so shouldn't they have given him web shooters too ? I'm pretty sure they knew what they were and that miles would need a pair and its not like it be hard for them to build . Maybe its just nick fury taking the pish. The prowler in a feat of epic dickery kills the tinkerer this issue. See before he was stealth deadpool and a pretty cool guy. Now he's just a murderer. Way to drop the ball bendis. Still loving the current art and I cant complement it enough. So I wont.

Slightly is a damn gid word

The short and sweet comic book quickies 17/2/12

I'm getting a wee bit tired of talking about DC comics. Theres only so much you can say about the same story. Im going a wee bit mad. Oh wells maybe this weeks lone marvel title can cheer me up.

AVENGERS #22
written by Brain Michael Bendis art by Renato Guedes

AGHGHGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHGHGHHHHHHHHGGHHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHHGHGHGHGHGHGHHGHGHGHGHHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHHGHGGHGGHGHGHGHGGGGGGGGGGHHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHHGHHGGHHGGHGHGGHHGGGHGHHHHGGHGHGHGHGHGHHHHGHGHGHGHGGHGHGHHGHGHGHHHHHGHGHGGHHHGHGHGHGHGHHHGHGHGHHGHGGHGHGHGHGHGHGGHGHGHGHGHHHHHHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGGHHGGGHGHGHHGHGHGHGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHGHGHGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHGGGGHHGHGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHGHGHGHGHGGHHHGHGGHGHHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHHGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHG !!!!

BLUE BEETLE #6
written by Tony Bedard art by IG Guara

The blue beetle fights a evil version of himself that's possessing his best friend that he almost killed a few issues ago. Super heroes have it ruff. See this is more like it, a proper hero vs bad guy fight all issue ! Well not so much all issue but most of the issue. Well a good chunk of it. Well anyway it felt gid . Dynamic even and it feels like this books moving forward ever so slightly which is a good thing as its been taking it's sweet time so far. The beetle bitch slaps his love interest at one point. Now it was part of a plan to save lives. Fair enough. But daaaaaaaaaaaaaammmm was it harsh. Like out of nowhere mental. The issue ends with the beetle being all emo and running off saying he's going ware he cant hurt his loved ones. Now normally I don't like that kind of a thing but here it's quite justified as the scarab has genuinely brought him nothing but trouble. It almost stabbed his best friend to death. Yeah that kind of sucky. The evil beetle has a darth maul thing going on. Looks wise I mean. And that's just rad.

BATMAN #6
written by Scott Snyder art by Greg Capullo

Batman's not dead ! Again ! Oh my this was glorious. Lucky for it because if it hadn't then there'd have been blood on the streets. Last issue batman was broken after only a week trapped in a maze. Yeah I guess there was a lot of drugs involved but still he's batman. He's WILLPOWER in human form. At no point should it be possible for him to ever broken. Well my concerns were misplaced as the weakness of last issue was just a valley so we cant appreciate the AWESOME peak of this issue. And DAMM was it awesome. So very very awesome. Its every thing I want from a batman comic. There are points when he sort of hulks out into the batgod. Yeah its like it was written for me. So batman brakes free from the maze through sheer bloody minded determination and humiliates the courts trained assassin the talon in single combat in the process. Powerful almost Dr Doom like awesomeness.

SUPERGIRL #6
written by Michael Green art by Mike Johnson

supergirl's parents show up as force ghosts and help her out of a sticky situation. Supergirl is still pretty kick ass. How awesome is that by the way ? I know I keep going on about it but I'm still honestly surprised that iv enjoyed it as much as I have. She's still fighting that pesky dark eldar world killer from last issue. HIGHLY ENJOYABLE FUN.

comic book quickies 9/2/12

Only three comics this week . A sad heft indeed.

GREEN LANTERN #6
written by Geoff Johns art by Mike Choi

Sinestro go's all lone wolf cop as Hal adjusts to normal life again in an interlude issue. Ohhh the art change. Its fair to say that its more than a wee bit jarring. Now it is a in-between issue so no big deal in the long run but it did take me out of the story just a wee bit too much. Not that the story is all that mind blowing on its own. Yeah Hal shows that he's still bad ass without the ring but by the end of the issue he's a lantern again. So yeah. Sinestro is off in space doing spacey things with space people. In space. The issue sets up that sinestro is now aware of the plan guardians of the universe to destroy the green lanterns. I imagine in his head he's all like naw little blue dudes that's MA job! One really cool point that came up was some buddy cop character development for sinestro in that he has a begrudging moment of respect for Hal. See at this point they should just make Sinestro like Dr doom currently is over in the fantastic books. You know basically a good guy. See he is the strict no nonsense half of the buddy cop duo but he's still bloody space Hitler and why he's still a green lantern makes no real sense. See doom gets away with being on the FF for two reasons. One he's Dr doom and two its been like over a year and he hasn't done anything that even looks like betraying the team. Sinestro though just hasn't got to that place yet.

SUPERBOY #6
written by Scott Lobdell art R.B Silva

Superboy fights supergirl. Aww yeah. Yup that's all I need to enjoy a comic. None of this emo-shan pish. Just fighty fighting. Is there anybody out there that dosny like this kind of thing ? Well yeah of course there is. Damn cool kids and there trendy no fighting talky comics. Makes me sick really. I do like this current superboy run but I am getting a wee bit sick of the n.o.w.h.e.r.e plot. You could say its going nowhere. Ohohohohohoho. Well played me. But yeah not digging the hole secrets and lies feel its got going on. Superboy just keeps doing what he's told by the the obviously evil organisation then starts questioning what he's doing then go's back to the evil organisation. PICK A GOD DAMN SIDE. I guess he is like two weeks old so for now I'm letting it slide. So what did destroy krypton ? Its not something iv ever thought to look up I just kinda assumed it was a natural disaster type thing but when superboy reads super girls memory's there's a text box that says the planet was ravaged by war. Weird right ? Also there was a clone uprising that's used as a plot point as superboy is a half human clone thingy or as a super girl puts it an abomination. Yeah so that krypton not as paradise like as I thought. To be fair though I'm not too up to date with superman continuity but its still a bit odd to me.

FRANKENSTEIN AGENT OF S.H.A.D.E #6
written by Jeff Lemire art by Alberto Ponticelli

Frankenstein fought in the Vietnam war. You win DC. You win the decade. There's nothing marvel can come up with that's more awesome than Frankenstein serving in nam. The issue is about franky and the creature commandos being sent to nam to assassinate col. Quantum, a very powerful Dr Manhattan like super hero that franky fought alongside during the war. He's basically red Dr Manhattan but with a lot more humanity as he eventually leaves the army as he cant take all the killing. So that's cool but in the present days he's mutated and has killed thousands after going a tad mad. It really pretty tragic as franky has to mercy kill him. Now that was only the B plot as back at base the synthetic workforce starts an uprising that's vaguely smiler to that flesh two parter story in the last season of Dr who. A DAMN fine comic that still continues to be one of the surprise hits of the new 52 for me.

comic book quickies 3/2/12

So red lanterns got dropped. Its last issue was just too much for me. It wasn't easy for me to let go of but I gave it five issues and then issue five happened in all its horribleness. So its dropped.

ACTION COMICS #6
written by Grant Morrison art Andy Kubert

Superman fights a tentacle monster, a dinosaur and a GOD DAMN BULL ! First things first this Is a damn hefty comic like yeah it has a back up story that certainly adds to the heft but the first story is just so damn packed its unbelievable. Now I was a wee bit sleepy when I was reading comics this so that may be part of why it felt like it just wouldn't end but reading through it again it still seems jam packed with just plenty going on. I barely got the gist of it the first time through but it made more sense to me than last issue maybe because superman punches dudes. I like that. Now this two month interlude seemed pretty mad when I first herd about it seeing as stuff had just gotten real back in issue four what with that hole brainiac thing going on but after this issue id say it was still mad but at least it was fun and justified in a timey wimey way. I'm likening the back up story's as well so far thieve acted as the books hart when compared to the main story's action silliness and this book really needed that, well it still would be awesome without the backups but its much more awesome with them if you get what I mean. This time the back up was about Clark leavening smallville for college and putting his affairs in order. It was incredibly nostalgic. I can totally get behind that.

DETECTIVE COMICS #6
written and art by Tony S. Daniel

Batman shoots a guys toes off. Yeah. Because he's the god damn batman. Right so there's two books going on in this issue. Two books with two very different feels. First we've got the grim dark brownness of batman fighting small time crooks like he's been doing from the start of this new detective comics run which was fine back in the day ( back in the day being six months ago) but now its really starting to drag. The second part of the issue is EVERYTHING to do with the penguin who is written like he's straight out of the Adam west show. NOW THATS AWESOME. Its mainly the wahs he puts into his speech but that's enough for me to love it. It also looks like penguins putting a team together and that's always fun. We also get a sixties TV batman style cliffhanger ending that's even ice themed. So yeah I'm likening the fun parts and really getting board with the grim dark brown parts but like I said above I was just a wee bit tired when I was reading comics this week maybe a wee bit too tired to enjoy this yin properly it really felt like it wouldn't end but not in a good way like action comics.

JUSTICE LEAGUE INTERNATIONAL #6
written by Dan Jurgens art Aaron Lopresti

OH MY YES. What a comic. So gid. So damn gid. Like when I read this book I feel like I'm reading a comic. You get what I mean ? Like it has action and characters. So this is like your standard issue six aftermath plot that you get after most five issue arcs come to a end ware you take an issue out from the action to evaluate what just went down and to set up plot points for the next arc. Now that's what this issue is but it dosent matter in the slightest mainly because at the start we get BUUDY COP batman and booster gold. Yes shit just got real. Remember way back at the start of this book how I said that how batman always has boosters back no matter how bad it look like he's screwed up ? Yeah we get five hole pages of that here. And it is GLORIOUS !!! I really have no way to put into words how awesome batman's faith in booster is. Then rocks fall and the party dies.

Right a wee bit of cross blog promotion going on down here. Take a wee peek at these fine fellows if you enjoy your tech

see my cave man hands have probably linked that wrong but I doubt you'll get that problem over there what with them being techmen.

comic book quickies 25/1/12

comic book quickies 25/1/12

It was one hell of a hefty week so lets get started !

JUSTICE LEAGUE #5
written by Geoff Johns art by Jim Lee

The justice league get owned by darkseid and batman go's a wee bit mad. Well well what do we have here, a third week book in week four. Disgusting DC. This utter failure is beyond anything seen before. Sure there's been delayed issues before but that was before the new 52 and its sacred four week cycle and for justice league the FLAGSHIP book of the new 52 to be the first to cross the line into lateness and to be the first cut soo deep into the four week cycle so beloved by all. It hurts. It cuts me deep inside. The delay is a wound that will never heel. Every time I see justice league on the shelf ill think of this dark day this DARKEST day when it was a week late. It hurts me to even type that. The book was soo late the UK editions are only two issues behind. How mental is that ! Heh that last part was a wee bit misleading but still true. Still pretty mental. The actual issue was pretty gid. Darksied is on earth now and the recently formed league get curb stomped by him in cinematic action movie style. Superman gets gutteted by the omega beams while flash out runs them and Hal Jordan gets his arm broken. Fun times. The batman go's a wee bit mad bit comes from a scene ware Bruce unmasks to Hal. It just sort of comes out of nowhere and Hal has no idea who Bruce Wayne is. That's just weird, I know its set five years ago but he should have at least herd of Bruce Wayne by that point. The unmasking has a point though, course it dose batman all ways has a plan as it it allows him to be picked up by darkseids mooks and taken back to their base. Weird plan but that's young bats for you, if it had been the bat god that we all know and love he'd just wander up to the battle field and all the mooks would spontaneously combust. Because he's batman. Yeah so gid comic.

THE FLASH #5
Written by Francis Manapul and Brian Buccellato art by Francis Manapul

The flash sort of ends the current story line in a way that makes it difficult for me to summarize it in a short and funny way. Yup flash is a damn gid comic. Its getting hard to talk about now as every issue is gid. Damn gid. That's really is a win for DC as my definition in my head of the flash comes from the 2000s justice league cartoon ware the flash was wally west and the comic relief of the team. So its kind of hard for me to root for the more serious business Barry Allan and I didn't grow up with DC comics continuity so its not a big deal foe me that Barry is alive and the flash again. Its not like Barry is clowning around here though its more just its a fun story that could have took grim dark turns but so far hasn't and I like that. The next story arc looks to be that the speed force is ripping apart time and space. I'm not sure how that will go over, to me it sound like that time in star trek the next generation when they found out that warp drives were ripping apart space. Did anything ever come from that ? I'm glad the books kind of taken a step back from Barry's mental speed force powers which kind of took away the fun part of the flash in that its fun to watch him just run fast. So for the the fifth time in five months, the art is still AMAZING. Really really really gid.

AQUAMAN #5
written by Geoff Johns art by Ivan Reis

Aquaman gets lost in the desert ! And his dog survives the issue ! Now I really enjoyed this issue it was everything I want an aquaman comic to be. This was really the first time since issue one ware I think the big goff got it spot on. Don't get me wrong I did like the cthulhu putties arc but at times I felt that it was a wee bit too dark and some times it dragged just a bit. It be awesome if the book just continued with the format of this issue that being sort of stand alone water themed monster of the week plot with an on going arc in the background you know like new who. Yeah so aquaman gets lost in the desert and hallucinates about his dad making fun of him for being aquaman. Yeah its one of those plots. And it bloody well works. Please big boss goff give us more comics like this. The art really shines. Heh get it ? Cause he's in a desert ! Damn I'm good.

GREEN LANTERN NEW GUARDIANS #5
written by Brain Tony Bedard art by Tyler Kirkham

The lantern rangers split up into buddy cop teams. That's right ! Buddy cop power rangers ! Mind explodes ! So the solar system machine ship thingy from last issue has actual planets in its metal orbs. Sadly there is no juice bar planet for the lantern rangers to visit. This issue reminds me of issue two or three of justice league international which ever one it was ware the league split up into pairs for some buddy cop odd couple action mainly because that's what exactly happens here. Maybe that's just the go to narrative device for writers that want to develop relationships in a team faster. That's what's happening here and over in the main avengers book as well but over there its more to make it easy for the avengers to get a whooping from hammer mooks. Here it kinda works , giving us back story for the lantern rangers like who they were before they joined there respective corps and why they do what they do. So that's pretty fun. The best banter is between green lantern kyle and orange lantern construct glomulus which is awesome and it kinda makes up for larfleeze not being on the team. Not an amazing comic but worth a read.

TEEN TITANS #5
written by Scott Lobdell art by Brett Booth

The titans get owned by superboy ! Yup superboy bipolar bastard that he is just willny pick a god damn side and stick to it. Its getting a bit much now. This issue is really just superboy beating down the titans. Now I like that it was all just one big fight but nothing all that awesome happens and it dosent give me all that much to talk about. So just a wee bit meh.

FANTASTIC FOUR #602
written by Jonathan Hickman art by Barry Kitson

The fantastic four wage 70s style space war above the earth ! Since issue five-ish this book has felt like 70s sci fi but I cant put my finger on a single core show that its most like. This space stuff makes it tastes like Blake 7. Now iv not seen that show in ages but that's the feeling I get from this books brow-ish colouring and I'm guessing deliberately cheesy at times character designs. This space war was in danger of getting stale but them BOOOOOOM!!! GALACTUS enters the battle and damn is he in full take nae shite I'm the devourer of worlds! Mode. Really all I need to enjoy a comic is for big G to turn up and actually do something. Too often galactus only gets a talkie cameo. Not here no sir. Here stuff explodes ! Lovely comic goodness !

FF #14
written by Jonathan Hickman art by Juan Bobillo

Doctor doom continues to be a total lad !I think we were all disappointed with dooms lack of appearances in the actual fantastic four book especially since that book was brought back for its 600 issue anniversary issues. Seriously how can you have an anniversary without doctor BLOODY doom ? Well fear not FF provides enough DOOM for all ! These few issues have been the best iv seen of old doom in ages, really he's not been this awesome since he fought his way out of hell. Yes that happened. This issue he stares down four mad gods. Like a pimp.

Doom. Do your worst....IT WILL NOT BE ENOUGH.

Now I like the team the books got going its what I thought the FF would be like from the start focusing more on the actual foundation doing things with SCIENCE rather than the fantastic four and what ever there plot was but at this point I could really do with this being dooms solo book. Its just mad enough to work !

Gears of war 3 Marcus Fenix action figure review

Well iv been writing mostly comic book quickies for what seems like ages now so lets try some thing a bit different.

I quite like gears of war. Its gid. Brown shooter extraordinaire that it is. I like it. The first yins probably why I bought my 360. If gears didn't exist I would have still got a 360 its just that gears one was the first next gen game that I saw that I just had to play. I'm pretty sure that's true. It dosent sound like lies at any rate. Anyway back in the day gears of war was the bomb. SIX YEARS AGO!!! how the funk did that happen ? That was a different age now long since past into myth and legend. It was a very yellow year wasn't it ? We can agree on that ?

Gears of war though. Its gid. Its your go to guy for chest high walls and brown-ness. Nothing wrong with that. That dosent have to be the formula for every game but its nice to have a dedicated guy for it kicking aboot. Now that's ware this chunky fridge man comes from, gears 3 to be specific. Yup its a toy of main character Marcus Fenix the shouty red ranger that he is.

I mainly got this handsome fellow because gears 3 was gid. Damn gid. Like surprisingly gid. It was mainly the less Nazi-ish world that drew me in and if I'm honest the game also lets you pilot mini mecha. You may not have picked up on this in the past but I am slightly partial to a wee bit of mecha.

Dude looks pretty funky in my option totally rocking the sleeveless summer gears outfit. Its summer time in gears 3. I like that. You could say that he has an awfully dull finish to him almost like he's had a dip in games workshops magic mud but that's totally in line with the feel and tone of the games. I feel I should also mention his trousers. MAN there awesome, just so detailed and they feel just so dame fine .... I may have said too much.

Articulation

Well this lad can move. A lot. Sort of. He's got a lot of joints and all that and its not like he's all that restricted its just that he's not very dynamic. Now that's not a bad thing its just that he's INCREDIBLY neutral. He just stands there. With his arms. And his legs. And his FACE. His not giving a crap face . I quite like this. See some times you get toys that are too committed to one pose. Not this guy though. No sir. Now the face on the other hand I don't quite dig, I would have liked it to have more grrrrrr to it. A More of a angry I'm going to kill you type of face would have off set the neutral body quite well. The joints in his legs allow him to fully sit down. THIS BLEW ME AWAY WHEN I FIRST SAW IT. Now he can be posed so that he's daintily dipping his toes in the pool !!!

Accessory's

He has a gun ! A retro lancer. Which to me is just sort of bllleehhhhh. I kinda thought he'd come with the proper lancer what with him being the main character and all. Nothing against the retro lancer but the proper chainsaw one is the thing most people remember most about these games. It kinda makes a gear a gear. Now he cant hold it all that well. Well he can hold it in BOTH hands but its kind of a stretch and when combined with his neutral-ness it dosent look all that fabulous. He can wield It one handed but its a bit wobbly. And that's just silly. But no worrys ! He can store it on his back and that looks GLORIOUS !!!

So a pretty solid toy likes.
